The Guest Experience

We love our weddings here at Eastern Floral, but they’re just one part of the event work we do in our pretty patch of West Michigan. Our dynamic community plays host to galas, fundraisers, corporate events and much more all year long. As the area’s premiere florist, we’re often tapped to provide the floral decor that helps each one stand out from the next. Our focus is on realizing our client’s vision for their event, collaborating with planners and other vendors to do so, and on maintaining our connection to some of the area’s best venues. After all, we’ve been decorating them for decades.

What makes for a singular event? How do we deliver the best possible guest experience?

The Metro Health Hospital Foundation’s Hope and Healing Luncheon is a fine example of the role flowers play in creating a meaningful experience for event guests. We can use them to unify the look of a room or to distinguish certain areas from others—a VIP table for instance, or a silent auction presentation area. They can lend a sense of grace and warmth to a ballroom, introducing a color scheme as well as texture and fragrance.

Flowers can be the main event at a private party, bringing a sense of occasion to the table or other space. They can give your guests something beautiful to focus on and even take home, if you’d like them to leave with a memento. Birthday parties, anniversaries and other milestone celebrations can make use of florals that are personally meaningful to the people involved, telling a bit of a story about them or the occasion at hand. Flowers make amazing conversation pieces, especially when they’re scaled to really make a statement. They often give your guests something to talk about.

We know how effective it can be to ensure that lighting and floral decor complement each other at a major event like the 2018 Metro Health VITALity Gala. Together, clever lighting and dramatic floral pieces such as a chandelier can totally transform a space, casting a kind of spell for guests. A white centerpiece is elegant and uncluttered, giving the illusion of space for those dining. It also helps to bounce around the light.

A guest often doesn’t know what to expect at an event, decor-wise, unless that theme has been made clear in invitations and other messaging. At the Make A Wish West Michigan Wish Ball in 2017, we had the chance to do something fun with flowers, creating a tablescape that literally exploded with comic-book worthy blooms. A formal event with a serious purpose but also a sense of humor and whimsy makes for an interesting design challenge. Our choices here show how you can create several feelings at once through floral designs; in this case, blooms in bright, Pop Art colors and shapes arranged elegantly.

Eastern Floral is proud to provide the kind of flowers that capture the spirit of an event, creating an inviting, visually-interesting space. Florals and greens are an important part of the experience you give your guests, and one they remember for a long time.
