Give us a quick synopsis of your love story!

We met in Lansing at work. I was in a bad relationship and had just moved to the city. I worked at the front desk, and Jacob was in sales. As cliche as it sounds, I knew he was going to play a big part in my life the moment I saw him. The funny thing is, at first I tried to initiate conversation with him a few times, but he always kept it super short, so I thought he didn’t like me. I’d lure him to my desk by offering to share the snacks I brought to work (Garlic Triscuits, mozzarella, and cherry tomatoes) in hopes of striking up a friendship. We’d have great conversation, but then he would cut it short, disappear, and then almost completely avoid me until I offered him snacks again. I was very confused! It turned out that he actually REALLY liked me, and he was keeping his distance because he wanted to ask me out but knew I wasn’t single. We didn’t truly become friends until after I ended the relationship I was in. Jacob decided not to ask me out right away because he didn’t want to be too forward. It honestly didn’t take too long before we officially started dating (cue the song “Can’t Fight This Feeling” by REO Speedwagon). Fast forward 5 years, and we are now married!

What are three words that best describe your wedding style?

Ethereal, modern, and romantic

What specific moment took your breath away?

Seeing him for the first time when I was walking down the aisle. I didn’t do a “first look” with him, so we hadn’t seen each other since the rehearsal dinner the night before.

If you could do it all again, what’s one thing you would change for your big day, if anything?

Hmmm. If I absolutely had to choose one thing I would have started the wedding earlier in the day so that we had more time to party!

What made you choose to work with Eastern Floral?

I was a bridesmaid for a friend who chose to work with Eastern Floral for her wedding. Everything was SO beautiful, and I was confident in Eastern’s ability to replicate my vision for my wedding!

Tell us about your experience with Eastern Floral.

It was really smooth and easy. Molly was very responsive to emails and any requests I made. She has an amazing eye for arrangement and was so patient and accommodating when I changed my floral vision multiple times! We had a lot of questions, and Molly didn’t hesitate to explain everything with complete transparency.

What advice do you have for future brides/grooms when planning their floral?

I would say to make sure that your florals reflect you and your personality and not necessarily what’s on trend. I wanted to have something a little unusual, so I chose to have a mix of roses, broomcorn, and orchids with a little bit of greenery instead of lots of greenery. I wanted to have a bouquet that I felt was both romantic and unique while also expressing my whimsical personality!
